Clifton Waterside Mansion
Description

Clifton Waterside Mansion

Located in Kandilli, Uskudar, Clifton Waterside Mansion was one of the glorious buildings in Bosphorus, which was burned up in the first quarter of the 20th century. Unfortunately the Clifton Waterside Mansion has not been able to survive today.

The masonry basement wall remained partially original, after the big fire. All other walls reconstructed by reinforced concrete technique. The timber structure above was demolished and constructed by reinforced concrete. The fire mentioned to happen either in 1916 or 1925, no exact record was found. It is recorded that the fire has been started because of a petrol leakage from a tanker passing through the Bosphorus.

The building was restored according to approved projects and be in used nowadays.
